Statement of Faith

As a covenant school, Northlake aims to partner with the Christian community to provide a Christ-centered environment in which faith is integrated with academic excellence, shaping students into intelligent, compassionate leaders who will impact the world for Christ.

BIBLE: I believe in the Bible to be the only inspired Word of God and that such Word of God is without error in its original writing. (II Tim. 3:16; II Peter 1:21)

GOD: I believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Gen 1:1-2; John 10:30; John 10:37-38, Rev. 1:8, John 1:1-4, 2 Cor 13:14, Matt. 28:19, 1 Peter 1:1-2)

JESUS: I believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious death and atonement through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:35; Heb. 5:15; Heb. 7:25; John 2:11; Heb. 9:12; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:14; John 11:25; Acts 1:11; Rev. 19:11-16)

SALVATION: I believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful man, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential. (Rom. 3:19, 23; John 3:16-19; John 5:24; Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:5-6)

HOLY SPIRIT: I believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling and filling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. (Eph. 5:18; Eph. 4:30; I Cor. 3:16; I Cor. 6:19-20)

RESURRECTION: I believe in the resurrection of the saved and lost, the saved unto life eternal in the presence of God and the lost unto damnation, separated from God. (John 5:28-29)

UNITY: I believe in the spiritual unity of the church, which is the Body of Christ, composed of all who have been regenerated through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom. 8:9; Col. 3:11; Gal. 3:26-28)

CREATION: I believe in the creation of man by the direct act of God. (Gen. 1:26-28; Gen. 5:1-2)

ETERNITY: I believe in the eternal security of the believer. (Romans 8:38-39, Eph. 1:13-14, 1 John 5:13, John 10:28-29)

MARRIAGE: I believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as either male or female, and that these two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen. 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. God made sexual intimacy a great blessing in the context of marriage between one man and one woman (only). God made marriage between man and woman both His plan for populating the earth and a picture of Christ and the church. (Gen 1:28, Gen 2:18-25, Eph. 5:22-33, 1 Cor. 7:2-5) 

HUMAN LIFE: I believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. I am therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps. 139, Luke 1:44, Genesis 1:27, Psalm 82:3-4.)
