Rooted in Faith

Northlake Christian School is committed to advancing the Kingdom of God by forming followers of Jesus who think critically, lead courageously, and serve faithfully.

Rooted in a strong biblical foundation and inspired by Psalm 1:3, Northlake Christian School seeks to cultivate students who are firmly planted in faith, growing and flourishing in every area of life. Situated on more than 14 peaceful acres in Covington, Louisiana, Northlake’s campus serves nearly 900 students from six weeks old through 12th grade. At every age, students at Northlake Christian School are immersed in a loving, encouraging, and challenging environment where they can achieve their fullest potential, growing in spiritual maturity and academic excellence.

He shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither - whatever they do prospers.- Psalm 1:3

Northlake’s Mission

Northlake Christian School is a private, non-denominational, non-profit Christian school that exists to assist the Christian community in providing a Christ-centered environment in which faith can be integrated with learning to offer a high-quality education for its students from preschool through 12th grade.

The Wolverine Way: Our Values in Action

At Northlake, our focus is on developing the whole child—spirit, mind, and body—with a biblical foundation at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to discipling students to become intelligent, compassionate leaders who embody the three pillars of the Wolverine Way:

Think Critically

Students are challenged to view the world through a biblical worldview, moving beyond knowledge to discover true wisdom in God’s Word.

Lead Courageously

As ambassadors for Christ, students are equipped to lead with integrity in their families, churches, and future vocations.

Serve Faithfully

We cultivate humility and a servant’s heart, encouraging students to honor God and impact their communities with the character of Christ.

A Vision Born in Faith

Nearly fifty years ago, a small group of Northshore believers united in prayer, asking God to provide a K–12 Christian school that would serve families throughout the community.

Confident in His calling and trusting in His provision, they turned their vision into action.

These faithful founders met with hundreds of local families to share their dream and recruit students.

They invested countless hours restoring donated desks, securing curriculum, and transforming a generously donated veterinary office into a place where students could learn, grow, and be discipled.

Through their perseverance and God's faithfulness, Northlake Christian School opened its doors in 1978 with 110 students, establishing a legacy that has impacted thousands of students and families across the Northshore for generations.

Building on a Lasting Legacy

The foundation laid through our early prayers remains evident throughout Northlake today.

While our campus has expanded, our enrollment has grown, and opportunities in academics, the arts, athletics, and student life have flourished, our mission remains unchanged: to partner with Christian families by providing a Christ-centered education that nurtures both the minds and hearts of students.

As we look toward the future, we continue to build upon the vision of those founders—equipping students to think critically, lead courageously, and serve faithfully while growing in wisdom, character, and a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.
