Cost: Tuition and a half
What is the Upward Learning Program?
The Upward Learning Program is designed to meet the academic needs of students who are:
-
performing at grade levels no less than 1.0 in any subject
-
performing up to 2 grade levels below peers
-
and have a current psychological/educational evaluation
The ratio of teacher to students in this self contained classroom is no more than 1:6; allowing the teacher to interact and work closely with each student. The curriculum addresses cognitive, auditory, and visual processing deficits through a multisensory approach using manipulatives. National Institute of Learning Development techniques, Feuerstein mediated learning questioning methods and reseach-proven teaching practices.
Upon admission to the program, students are formally assessed using various testing instruments to determine reading level and other academic levels. A report card is issued each nine weeks as outlined in Northlake Christian School policy.
