A combination of assessment and intervention for struggling readers in the areas of reading decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
Reading stands as a primary skill in the achievement of any standard of educational success. To learn, we must read fluently and with comprehension. Yet reading is also an amazingly complex feat, accomplished through coordination of vision, perception, comprehension and reasoning skills. Rx for Discovery Reading offers vital support to students to equip them to master this critical process. Impediments to successful reading are identified through diagnostic screenings, and deficits are remediated through intensive, one-on-one reading instruction. This intervention provides explicit instruction in phonetic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
