To Address Learning Needs in Specific Subject Areas
A combination of academic and classroom support for students who need to see the Discovery Center staff on a more frequent / daily basis.
Resource offers remedial help from qualified teachers in reading, language skills, math and other core curricular subjects for elementary students. Students use a multi-sensory approach involving games, manipulatives, textbooks and remedial test booklets. Classroom concepts and lessons are reviewed and strengthened. Resource goes far beyond contentspecific tutoring to support students in three significant areas: (1) remediation to address deficits in fundamental learning skills; (2) advocacy with classroom teachers and administrators; and (3) administration of appropriate accommodations or modifications.
