The NCS Varsity Cheerleaders

The 2016-2017 Varsity Cheerleading Squad is comprised of 9-12 grade students with experience in cheerleading and a desire be Christian leaders on and off campus. The cheerleaders perform at all NCS home football games, all NCS home basketball games, and select UCA Cheerleading Competitions of Louisiana.

Meet the Coaches

Heather Barone, Varsity Head Coach

Coach Heather Barone has coached NCS cheer at the middle school level for the past two years. This year, she has taken the title of NCS Cheer Director, and also coaches the varsity and competition squads. Barone owned and operated Creative Dance in Slidell for over 25 years.
Coach Barone has four children, Logan, Maddy, Miley, and Macey who all attend NCS.

Kaylee Lewellyn, JV Head Coach

Kaylee Lewellyn is a math teacher in the NCS Upper School.  This is her fifth year teaching but her first year at Northlake Christian School.  She is an alumni of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette where she majored in secondary math education.  Lewellyn's cheer experience includes being on the cheerleading squad during high school at Beau Chene High School.  She is married to Eli Lewellyn, who also teaches and coaches at NCS. The Lewellyns are excited to be a part of the NCS family!

 

The Northlake Cheerleading Squads recently competed in the Gulf Coast Invitational Championship on January 28. The Junior High team came in second while Varsity took home first place! Great job to both squads!
