Tuition and Financial Aid

2018-2019 Early Learning Center Tuition

2018-2019 TK-12th Grade Tuition (New Families)

2018-2019 TK-12th Grade Tuition (Returning Families)

Each year, the Board of Directors approves a portion of our Operating Budget to assist qualifying families that may need assistance paying tuition. We have selected Smart Aid, a financial aid assessment company, to conduct fair and confidential assessment of each family to determine the amount of financial need. Tuition assistance can be applied for by students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade. Assistance awards range from 10% up to 30% of the Smart Aid calculated need. Applications for assistance MUST be submitted online each year through Smart Aid.

  • Tuition assistance is available on the basis of demonstrated need. We understand that from year to year, it is difficult to see how the tuition will affect any household budget. Our desire is to assist families that have no other resource for paying tuition. We process many applications for families that need only to make minor adjustments to their budgets or make small sacrifices in order to afford a private school education. Therefore, we give assistance to qualifying families that have little to no wiggle room in their household budget.
  • If you believe that your resources are not sufficient to meet the total costs of a Northlake Christian School education, you are encouraged to apply. Smart Aid provides a framework through which household need can be measured fairly and equitably. Recommendations from Smart Aid are used by the Northlake Christian School award committee in accordance with its policies to determine the award amount. NCS does not award tuition assistance on a first come first serve basis. All applications will be reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee, and assistance will be given based on financial need.
  • To be considered for financial aid, your family must to be current on all financial obligations with the school including extra curricular activities.
  • The financial aid process and its recipients is confidential. The school will respect your privacy; we will not share any information pertaining to your application and/or award with other families. Respectfully, we ask that applicants and recipients not share this information with other families.
  • Financial Aid awards do not cover the cost of tuition. Assistance is awarded up to 30% of tuition for students entering grades K-4 and up to 25% of tuition for students entering grades 5-12.
  • The Financial Aid Committee will consider the assets of all parents before making a financial aid decision and cannot be bound by the assertion that one parent has disclaimed responsibility for educational expenses. All parents – custodial and noncustodial, natural and stepparents – must complete and submit an application and all required paperwork.
  • The Financial Aid Committee will impute wages for non-working parents when all children in the household are Preschool to School age. The total amount imputed will be calculated as $10.00/hour multiplied by full time work of 2,080 hours for the year. That amount for 2017-2018 applicants $20,800.00
  • Regretfully, we are unable to consider applicants who have filed for an extension with the IRS. We must have the prior year’s tax information to determine your financial need. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Mutsa Tavengwa.
