Financial Aid Process - Returning Students

When to Apply: January 16, 2017 – April 30, 2017
*Please note that you will not be able to submit an application after April 30, 2017


  • To apply for Financial Aid, you must be enrolled for the academic year in which you are requesting financial aid.
  • If Smart Aid determines your family to have “NO NEED” for assistance and you feel that you “DO” have a need, be prepared to complete a Financial Circumstances Letter and a Current Household Budget.


  • To apply for Financial Aid, you need to have completed and paid for enrollment for the year in which you are applying.
  • Complete the Household Budget Form. This is to help your family determine your scope of need. 
  • Complete the attached Financial Circumstances letter addressed to the Financial Aid Committee with more information on your family and financial standing which warrants a need for Financial Aid
  • Submit two years of Tax Returns (Current and Prior Year).
  • If you are a returning family with a Smart Aid for Parents account, please log in to your account and complete your application using NCS ID #12922
  • Business Owners: be prepared to submit your company’s Profit and Loss Statements for two prior years and year to date.

Notification of Financial Aid:

Once your application is processed, Smart Aid will forward a financial aid recommendation to Northlake Christian School. All final financial decisions, including notification of award amount (if any), will be made by Northlake Christian School’s Financial Aid Committee.
Any aid approved will be applied to your Smart Tuition account, and the tuition balance will be reduced accordingly. You will receive an award email from the Financial Aid Office regarding the status of your application and balance adjustment amount beginning February 15, 2017.

  • K – 12th
  • FC – ULP
Smart Aid Application Fee: $35.00


NOTE: Applications submitted without documentation will not be processed. Northlake Christian School only reviews applications that are fully verified by Smart Aid.

Non Business

  • Two [2] most recent paystubs
  • 2016 W2 forms for all jobs
  • 2016 Filed Tax Return – 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ with schedules


  • 2016 Filed Business Tax Return – 1120, 1120S, 1065 (if applicable)
  • Two years prior & year to date Profit and Loss Statements for each business

All Applicants 

  • Any supplemental income documentation (where applicable): Child Support, Social Security Income, Welfare, Food Stamps, 1099-M Forms, Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment, Veterans Benefits, Housing Allowance
  • If you are unable to provide any of the aforementioned documents, please submit a Special Circumstances Letter indicating which document (s) you are unable to provide and the reason you are unable

Selecting a Grade K-12:

  • select RET and the child's 17-18 grade


  • If your property taxes and/or home insurance is included in your mortgage payment, please enter one amount for your mortgage and $0 for taxes and home insurance.
  • If you pay your property taxes & or home insurance separately please enter actual amounts respectively
  • Utility expenses are annually and not monthly

Family and Student Codes:

The Financial Aid office uses different codes to group applications that are pending or awarded. Please select a code during the application process. If you do not know what code you fall under, you can leave the box unselected.‚Äč
