Becoming the Premier Christian School in the Gulf South region
In 2003, the Board of Directors along with the Administration of Northlake Christian School set out on a very bold initiative to become the “premier” Christian institution of choice in the Gulf-South region offering a complete program of excellence from pre-school through elementary and college preparatory. This plan included strengthening a respected academic curriculum, expansion of competitive athletic endeavors and accreditation of the school’s comprehensive program of activities. Today signs of that initiative coming to fruition as set forth in 2004 are abundantly evident.Northlake Christian School has been fully accredited by Advanc-Ed/SACS-CASI and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Our college preparatory course offerings include honors classes and Advanced Placement courses of the College Board with 100% of our high school graduates matriculating to colleges and universities of their choice.
Innovation in technology, the implementation of Foundations and Frameworks (a comprehensive reading and language arts curriculum for Kindergarten through Sixth grade),and the strongest educational preschool program in the area, provide the solid academic cornerstone for the competitive academic edge our graduates need for future successes beyond our classrooms. All of this has been achieved with the strengthening of a Christ-centered focus on curriculum and instruction, a more defined Christian worldview, and in general a high priority and focus on the premise that all truth is God’s truth.
Coupled with balanced enrollment management, necessary academic and athletic facilities have been designed and are entering the development and construction stages today. Much of the infrastructure for the construction phases has been completed including pre-construction electrical supply and the development of the “construction road” which has a very crucial and immediate dual purpose for construction and emergency access.
In 2010 and 2011, we saw much of our vision come to fruition - a new preschool, a new "Founders Hall" for the secondary school, new football field and second gymnasium. We are in preliminary discussions for the addition of our competition swimming pool and aquatic center.
